This training can be done face to face in a group taking into account the latest Covid-19 guidelines. However, when you feel more comfortable to do so, we can also meet online.
A new group will start when I have 4 participants to start with.
The Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Training (MBSR) is given in groups of min 5 and max 12 people for a duration of 8 weeks. Each week we will come together for 2,5 hours were we will discuss the theme of the week, share meditation experiences and most of all experience and discover what Mindfulness is. In week 6 we will also have 1 additional silence day were we will integrate all experiences and practices in 1 powerful day together.
Every week you will be encouraged to practice at home on a daily base with the meditations and homework exercises. Per day this will add up to an average of 60 min practice. This training is intensive and the home practice is needed when you really want to change your behavior and patterns. Only coming to the weekly sessions and reading the provided material without the practice will most likely not bring you the desired results.
Course material will be provided in a binder which contains the information on Mindfulness, explanations of the weekly sessions, theoretical backgrounds per theme & homework assignments. For the homework, audio tracks with all meditations will be provided.
If you feel you are up for the challenge of changing your mind-set on how you deal with stress, fill out the contact form and join a training. With each participant I will have a preferably face to face take-in. This to ensure you get a full picture of what the training can do for you and also to see if what I offer during the training but also as a trainer, is the best fit for you.
Costs & health insurance
The costs for the 8 week MBSR Training are € 450. The costs will need to be paid before the first session, the option of paying in terms can be discussed.
As I am a registered Category 1 trainer (reg. number 20181240) with VMBN (Vereniging Mindfulness Based Trainers Nederland) most health insurances will give a (partial) reimbursement of these costs. Please check with your own health insurance if you are eligible for this.

Do I need any experience in meditation?
No not at all, you can participate in MBSR when you are completely new to meditation.
I have practiced Zen meditation and/or yoga and/or mantra meditation, is this the same?
No, in MBSR we practice the Vipasana Meditation, see https://www.dhamma.org/en/index for more info.
Do I need to wear special clothing: no, make sure you wear something comfortable and bring something to keep you warm, maybe an extra pair of socks or a jumper?
Meditation cushions, yoga mats & blankets are provided in the room.
Looking at the dates I will not make it to 2 or more dates, can I still join?
I recommend not to miss more than 2, this to ensure the stability of the group and of course also your own learning curve. When you know upfront, you will miss more than 1 session lets have the coffee together to see how it will impact your training.
Is this the same as Search Inside Yourself SIY?
No, SIY is an in company 2-day training which focusses on Mindfulness, Emotional Intelligence and Positive psychology. Practice is focussed mainly on ‘on the workplace’ implementation. MBSR is a personal development training which focusses on all aspects of your life which you can of course also implement on the job. The two have a different format and some overlapping themes.
